Georgia Europe Square, Batumi, Georgia
Europe Square is one of the architectural highlights of Batumi’s Old Town and looks particularly impressive from above. The square is surrounded by ornate historic façades, with the Medea Monument at its center and Batumi’s distinctive towers rising nearby. From the air, the contrast between the compact Old Town, the Black Sea and the green mountains behind the city becomes especially visible. If you want an empty square, your best chance is probably during sunrise in the summer!
Photography Tips
The blue hour is one of the best times to photograph Europe Square from above. As the city lights switch on, the warm illumination of the square and surrounding buildings contrasts beautifully with the cooler tones of the sky and Black Sea. Instead of shooting straight down, position the drone at an angle to include the coastline and mountains in the background and create more depth. The local drone regulations are pretty relaxed, but please check for any changes before flying.
