Georgia Batumi Old Town, Georgia
This aerial view from above Batumi’s Old Town shows one of the city’s most fascinating contrasts: historic streets and colorful rooftops in the foreground, modern development beyond them, and the green mountains of Adjara rising directly behind the city. The area around Batumi Piazza is particularly photogenic from above, as the dense Old Town creates plenty of textures and layers within the frame.
Photography Tips
Late afternoon and golden hour are perfect for this perspective. The low sun creates warm highlights on individual buildings while leaving other streets in shadow, adding depth to an otherwise busy cityscape. Point the drone inland rather than towards the Black Sea and use the mountains as your background. Slightly moody weather can make the shot even stronger, especially when low clouds wrap around the mountain ridges. Only took me 5 days to finally get some sunset in the city. It'ss very cloudybecause ofo the nearby mountains!
Travel Information
You can photograph this perspective from the area around Batumi Piazza in the heart of the Old Town. The surrounding streets are easily explored on foot and offer plenty of additional architectural subjects before or after your flight. For aerial photography, choose a safe, open take-off location away from pedestrians, and always check current Georgian drone regulations and local airspace restrictions before flying.
