Scattered across the slopes around Goderdzi Pass, these small mountain huts are characteristic of Adjara's remote alpine landscape. Surrounded by dense conifer forests and high mountain meadows, the simple A-frame cabins become especially atmospheric when clouds descend into the valley. On foggy days, the entire scene can feel surprisingly wild and isolated.

Moody weather is exactly what you want for this location. Low clouds and fog are very common around Goderdzi Pass and can completely transform otherwise simple cabins into strong photographic subjects. A telephoto lens works particularly well to isolate groups of huts between the trees and compress the layers of foggy forest behind them. Wait for clouds to move through the scene! Just be aware that visibility can change within minutes, briefly revealing individual cabins before hiding them again.

These mountain huts are scattered around Goderdzi Pass and along the roads through the surrounding alpine area. There is no single viewpoint to aim for; instead, keep an eye on the hillsides while driving and look for safe places to stop when an interesting composition appears. Weather changes quickly at this elevation, so bring rain protection and expect considerably cooler conditions than in Batumi. Fog can also reduce visibility on the mountain roads, so drive carefully.
