Greenland Glaciers and mountains along the South Coast, Scoresbysund
Driving along the south coast near Sol Glacier offers constantly changing views of rugged mountains, glaciers and wide open valleys. The road follows the coastline, with the surrounding landscape making almost every stretch feel like a viewpoint.
Photography Tips
A long lens like the 100–500mm is incredibly useful in East Greenland because the landscape is so vast and dramatic. It lets you isolate distant glaciers, waterfalls, icebergs and mountain details, compress the layers of the landscape, and capture perspectives you simply can’t reach with a wide-angle lens.
Travel Information
Scoresbysund is one of the most remote places you can reach in Greenland. There are no roads or infrastructure here. The area is explored by sailing boat, smaller expedition vessel, kayak or multi-day guided kayak trips, with August to roughly mid-September being the best window to experience it. Just around 500 people coming per year.
