Greenland Røde Ø (Red Island) and iceberg graveyard, Scoresbysund

Røde Ø (Red Island) sits at the entrance to Rødefjord, surrounded by striking red sandstone and some of the largest concentrations of grounded icebergs in Scoresbysund. The shallow waters around the island trap the ice, creating an extensive “iceberg graveyard” where massive bergs remain stranded and slowly break apart and melt over time.

Palce a person for scale and open your aperture for an unsharp foreground. This brings you more dynamic in your framing. Try to find some nice rightful gras / leaves.

Top down perspectives for details of the colorful leaves gives you a good additional image to understand, why this island is not just red because of the stones but also the leaves which changes its color in the most farm period.

Scoresbysund is one of the most remote places you can reach in Greenland. There are no roads or infrastructure here. The area is explored by sailing boat, smaller expedition vessel, kayak or multi-day guided kayak trips, with August to roughly mid-September being the best window to experience it. Just around 500 people coming per year.
