Greenland Qeqertarsuaq Village
Qeqertarsuaq is a small, colorful town on Disko Island, surrounded by dramatic red-black basalt mountains and the waters of Disko Bay. Founded in 1773 as Godhavn, it has a strong whaling and fishing heritage, while today its biggest attractions are the extraordinary volcanic landscape, black-sand beaches, glaciers and abundant wildlife.
Photography Tips
When having the drone in the air, you can use the zoom options (if available) to compress with the icebergs and get the village in a more compact way in one frame.
Travel Information
Qeqertarsuaq lies about 100 km across Disko Bay from Ilulissat. In summer, the town is reached by boat with DiskoLine, while year-round access is possible by helicopter from Ilulissat. Once there, Qeqertarsuaq is compact enough to explore entirely on foot.
