This volcano crater is an impressive spot close to the F208 4x4 track to Landmannalaugar centre. with a view over the coloured lava rocks of the crater as well as the landscape around it.

Photography Tips

The panorama is really wide so only wide-angle will work (with multiple shots for panorama). Yet telephotos to isolate rocks' colour details can be of interest.

Travel Information

This place is close to the F208 track but rougher track and steep so need a real 4x4 to go to the top.
Easy to reach in summer. Much more complicated in winter as you need a real super jeep and a very experienced driver to reach the top.
