From Egilstaðir in the northeast the second largest lake of Iceland, Lagarfljót (or Lögurinn), stretches nearly 25 km to the southwest. What makes it unusual, is the very milky-yellow colour of its water.

Photography Tips

There are several spots for photographing the lake along the northwestern bank. The best ones I consider from the heigt along road 910 as well as on and beside the bridge crossing the lake in the southwest.
