Iceland View onto Múlagljúfur Canyon

Welcome to one of my favourite spots in Iceland. This majestic canyon can hardly be seen from the road and is one reason many people drive by without noticing it! The views up here are phenomenal and worth the short but steep hike!

Photography Tips

I used my drone to get above the canyon from a different angle which I wasn't able to get with my photo camera. Be aware of many birds flying around and the narrow canyon itself. Easy to lose your drone here. Sunrise might be an excellent time when the light illuminates the hills around the canyon. I prefer the afternoon on a cloudy day. Please don't come for sunset; it gets too dark in the canyon for good photos.

Travel Information

The car park is bumpy, and you might want to consider stopping your car earlier and walking a bit longer if you don't have a larger car. From the parking lot, it took me roughly 30 min to the first viewpoint which is also the best for your photos. Bring water and food and hang out there a bit to enjoy the views! The trail is easy to follow!
