The Vatnajökull glacier is the largest and most voluminous ice cap of Europe. From the Ring Road, you have a stunning view over the glaicer. The Vatnajökull is responsible for the surreal Jökulsarlon glacier lagoon where ice bergs that broke out of the glacier tongue float along.

Photography Tips

You can best shoot the glacier with the road in the middle of the photo in the low season when less cars are driving on the Ring Road.

Travel Information

It is easy to get there. You can find a parking lot on the left side of the Ring Road in the area of the Jökulsarlon glacier lagoon.
