About the location
Originally commissioned by Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum, the structure has transitioned from a tomb to a papal fortress and now a museum. Photographers are drawn to the juxtaposition of the ancient stonework against the flowing water of the river, especially during the golden hour when the sun illuminates the bridge's angel statues. The rooftop terrace provides one of the most famous panoramic views of Rome, featuring a direct line of sight to St. Peter's Basilica.
