Nelson Lakes National Park offers different multi-day hiking options with lots of huts in a far distance. Angelus Hut is surrounded by mountains on a beautiful lakeside.

Photography Tips

It´s definitely a sunrise spot. If the water is still and there is now wind you can go around the lake for some nice reflections.

For more glow like here use a Black Mist filter. I´ve used 1/4.

Travel Information

Start your hiking at Mt. Robert Circuit Carpark. Two different trails lead the way up to Angelus Hut. This 22.6 km out-and-back trail with 1050 meter of elevation is a challenging hike and requires a certain level of fitness.
