New Zealand Hiking trail to Mount Brown Hut, Lake Kaniere

The hike to mount brown hut is very challenging but so worth it. In the first 1 1/2 kilometer you are going through a sick bush line that shoes you the untouched beauty.

Just have your camera close by. It is worth it to have it out at your back with a clip or in a strip around your neck.

A hiking trip to the nearby Mount Brown Hut is around 8,9 km out-and-back with 983 meter of elevation. It is a very challenging hike and requires a really good level of fitness. The background for this assessment is the trail itself. Sometimes it is difficult to find the right way. Small marker on the trees can help you here. At some points in the bush line it is very step and slippery. After the bush line you will enter a very muddy ground.

Mount Brown Hut is a backcountry hut. All bookings are first-come first-served. There is no reservation possibility. So please take your tent and sleeping gear with you, if you definitely want to stay up in the mountains and to be safe in case the hut is full.
