Svalbard & Jan Mayen Islands Hike to Valentinryggen, Osbornebreen

This landing site is perfect for a great hike up the mountain to the peak. From here you are getting a stunning view above the fjord and this massive glacier. The silence at this place is majestic. You just listen to nature sounds.

Try to use your wide angle lens for a huge panorama. If you don't have it with you, you can use your 24-70mm, create some multiple shots for a panorama, which you later merged in Lightroom. Pay attention that you always shot in one line.

The hike is around 2km long until you reach the peak. The meters of altitude are around 278.

This picture is just possible with a daily excursion by boat or with a multiple day ship cruise. In the internet are many providers for different tours in Svalbard. If you want to travel to this remote region you should book your cruise in advance to make sure that they have enough space and the right cabin for your style of traveling.
