Svalbard & Jan Mayen Islands Northern Shores at Nordbreen
Wijdefjorden is surrounded by wide, desolate shorelines where tundra, glaciers, and dark mountain ridges meet the cold Arctic sea. The immense scale and quietness of the fjord create a feeling of complete isolation, especially when low clouds and drifting ice move through the landscape.
Photography Tips
Take an ultra-wide angle lens with you. This helps you to get as much ice in the frame as possible.
Travel Information
When with the expedition team, check out which shoreline does contain ice. The glacier is quite active, however currents and wind + waves can push the ice blocks to either side (south and north).
