United Kingdom The Duirinish Stone, Isle of Skye, Scotland
A striking 5‑metre sandstone monolith standing above Dunvegan, erected by the local community on Midsummer’s Day 2000. Set on the crag of Druim Na Creige, it offers sweeping views across Loch Dunvegan toward MacLeod’s Tables and, in the opposite direction, the distant Cuillin Ridge.
Just below lies the atmospheric ruin of St Mary’s Old Church (Kilmuir) with historic clan graves and carved medieval slabs—an evocative pairing of modern monument and deep local heritage.
