The older section of the San Francisco / Oakland Bay Bridge is officially known as the "Willie L. Brown Jr. Bridge" and spans from SFO to Yerba Buena Island. It is best and easily shot from The Embarcadero waterfront, where you can include some rotting pillars in the water as foreground.

Travel Information

You can easily walk down to the Embarcadero if you stay near Market/Mission streets. There are also has other nice views nearby, roam around, you can spend a good two hours within a few hundred feet here. No good parking here, but lots of public transport to this location.

There are quite a few very good views around this spot, within a few steps or minutes of walking. An art display in the center of the split road, a very interesting fountain made of old duct pieces etc.
