Greenland Bregnepynt, Scoresbysund

Bregnepynt is a spectacular place to sail through, with dramatic mountains rising from the water and enormous icebergs filling the fjord. Some of the ice giants here are among the largest you can encounter in the Scoresbysund system, making the passage especially impressive.

Stay in contact with the other sailing boats via radio. Their position can help you anticipate great moments and frame the icebergs with a sense of scale.

Use the longest lens you have. This image was shot at an equivalent of 1000mm from OM System. The sensor and an in-lens converter, allowing to isolate details from a safe distance in a perfect way.

Scoresbysund is one of the most remote places you can reach in Greenland. There are no roads or infrastructure here. The area is explored by sailing boat, smaller expedition vessel, kayak or multi-day guided kayak trips, with August to roughly mid-September being the best window to experience it. Just around 500 people coming per year.
