Tips for your trip to Hallstatt

About the location

In general, the town is known for its salt production in prehistoric times. Photographers will know Hallstatt for the iconic view of the old town with the church in the center. The photos may not look like it, but this place is extremely touristic today and pretty popular among Asian visitors. For this reason it's recommended to prefer sunrise over sunset, if you want to be flexible about your camera position.

Traveling

There are different parking areas in front of the city. They cost a few Euros each hour and you will have to walk about 10-15 minutes to the iconic spot through the village, but in general everything is easy to find. The best way to get here is by car or by bus.
