About the location
The bridge connects the cultural heart of South Bank with the bustling Queen Street Mall area, offering unobstructed sightlines of the river and the iconic Wheel of Brisbane. At night, the bridge itself is often illuminated with colorful LED lights, making it a subject as well as a platform for capturing the city. Its wide pedestrian walkways provide ample space to set up tripods without obstructing the flow of commuters, while the surrounding architecture provides excellent context for both historical and modern urban photography.
Photographers should explore both the eastern and western walkways to capture different aspects of the city. The western side is perfect for sunset views over the river toward the William Jolly Bridge, while the eastern side focuses on the densely packed skyscrapers of the city center.
