About the location
Built on the site of a former Roman temple and Moorish mosque, the cathedral is a palimpsest of history. The facade is dominated by the unfinished 14th-century Gothic portal, featuring life-sized statues of apostles and a delicate rose window that creates mesmerizing light patterns inside. The interior is equally impressive, with soaring vaulted ceilings and a rich treasury of art.
The highlight for many photographers is the Romanesque cloister. It features double columns with beautifully carved capitals and lush greenery, providing a peaceful atmosphere and excellent opportunities for play with light and shadow throughout the day.
