Tanzania Village Along Road to Lake Natron
The villages around Lake Natron in northern Tanzania are small, remote communities set between the Rift Valley escarpment, volcanic landscapes and the towering presence of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the sacred “Mountain of God” of the Maasai. The area is home predominantly to Maasai pastoralists, whose traditional way of life is closely connected to cattle, the surrounding drylands and seasonal water sources. The villages offer a glimpse into rural life in one of Tanzania’s most striking and isolated landscapes.
