Corniglia is one of the five famous villages of the Cinque Terre in the northwest of Italy. It is located between Vernazza and Manarola and it is the only one which is not built directly on the sea but on a cliff 100 meters above sea level.
Corniglia is the smallest of the five villages in Cinque Terre. Because it's built on a cliff, it's also the least accessible and you need to walk up a few hundred stairs from the train station. If you do the hike between the villages, you will automatically pass the city.
